Beauty in Stone Resolution! 2009

There is a beauty contest. Aphrodite and Hera are competing. As are the performers. They describe, imagine and re-imagine their beauty, looks, assets. Their dreamed looks forms a sharp contrast to the bodies we see. Exhausted from fantasizing, they dance; weaving in and out of roles and poses, becoming Greek sculptures, Goddesses, movement, themselves. The jury, the mortal Paris and the audience, are teased, tempted, persuaded and bribed. Who is the fairest? Who will win the beauty contest? And come to think of it, what is beauty, actually?
