Charlotte has studied dance since a very young age, starting with ballet, and only later studied more extensively modern, jazz and contemporary dance. At the age of 13, she made her West End debut with the London Children’s Ballet with Cathy Marsden’s version of The Ballet Shoes , then again the following year with Faithful Gelert choreographed by Poppy Ben-David. It was only after dancing for an inspirational contemporary choreographer Kirsty Tapp (Bonnie Bird new choreography award winner), that she decided to venture her career in contemporary dance.
Charlotte went on to achieve a BA(Hons) degree at London Studio Centre. Whilst at LSC, she frequently appeared in dance pieces choreographed by Heidi Ruustgard (Co-Artistic director of H2 Dance), and Ben Ash (Dog Kennel Hill Project) In the final year, she performed a national tour with Intoto; the contemporary dance company at LSC.
It was here where she got to dance as a soloist and work with Michael Popper (an in demand Soloist and choreographer), Kerry Nichols (founder KNDC), Ben Duke (co-founder of Lost Dog), and Martin Lawrence (Richard Alston Dance Company).
Since she has appeared in a dance video with Wild Palm’s; ‘Over…Time…’ which was directed by James Parrish. For the last year she has collaborated with Emma Lee and Maisie Whitehead for a dance piece called In My Shoes (Resolution!2010). Charlotte runs a dance academy every year for foreign students at Coking’s Dance Academy. She continues to express her love of dance by exploring various forms of movements and activities during her spare time.
